Introduction

My name is Gábor Adorján. I make yurts.

Welcome to my website!

When I saw my first yurt (in 1981 at the age of ten), it was love at first sight. The yurt in question was part of a display of Mongolian culture in the main square of the nearby north Hungarian town of Vác.

My earlier fascination for native American culture was replaced by a passion for the people of the plains – Huns, Magyars.
It was about 20 years before my dream of making my own yurt came true. It was a little four-metre yurt that I made according to the specifications of the original Mongolian yurts. I had a small herd of dairy cows at the time and I slept in the yurt at their summer pasture. I decided to sell the cows and the yurt but when I found there was more interest in the latter, I made another one and so the "Adorjan Yurt" was born.

Eighteen years have passed since then. I now keep cows again and have made hundreds of yurts, which have been sold in countries such as

In Hungary we have made yurts for camps, archaeological exhibitions and sports facilities etc.

We never tire of our work. We are constantly striving to improve our yurts and we are always open to innovation.

If you're thinking of buying a yurt, feel free to look around and see what we have to offer.

I also make custom-built yurts to your individual specifications.
